The maiden edition of Evolution Cup ongoing at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne continued on Wednesday amid thrills, expectations and best of soccer artistry.

It was a thug of war when Ilaji FC and SGFC Athletics open the day with a tactical battle which saw the tough-soaked encounter ending in a 2-2 draw.

While Ilaji FC had taken the lead as early as possible in the game, they lost thier advantage to a fiercely reacting SGFC to eventually set the stake of the game high.

Ilaji, would at the stroke of the last minute got their leveler with a sublime strike from Ogungbayi Boluwatife- a result which has subsequently placed them on the top of the Group A log with five points from three games.

Olansile tasted their second defeat of the tournament in their 2-1 loss to Ekiti based Olukismet FC in the second game of the day. The game further spelt a big doubt on the ability of Olansile boys who recorded a 4-1 victory over Hammola FC in the first game.

Having lost two games consecutively, It was the time for Abraysports FC to prove their worth in the third game of the day. The Ilorin based side surprisingly turned the game to thiers when they mounted an irresponsible onslaught on Rolly FC towards the last quarter of the game.

The encounter, which ended 5-3 against Rolly FC was indeed a spectacle that defined the quality of the games that the organisers of the tournament had envisaged.

By extension, It was also a roller coaster affair in the eight-goal thriller game with Ikhenoba Raymond of Rolly FC and Olaniyan Moshood of Abraysports getting a brace each.

Magic Stars FC, out of their sheer breezy game approach fell short of expectations in the last game of the day when they lost 3-1 to Right2Win FC. The latter, who have now recorded three wins from its last three games are currently holding the 'mace'  in the group B of the tournament with nine points.

Also highlighting the match day 3 of the ongoing Evolution Cup, which is an NLO Pre-season invitational tournament was the 50 goals milestone. Ikhenoba Raymond of Rolly FC was at the receiving of a 'present' from the organisers having scored the 50th goal of the tournament.
