The boys' team from Rivers State and the girls' team from Bayelsa state both won gold medals at the recently ended National Youth Games in Ilorin.

"So, rather than announce a big cash reward for them, we decided to give them stipends while converting the bulk of the cash to sporting gears that will help their development"
Kida complimented Rivers and Bayelsa for being deserving ambassadors for the zone and urged other states to follow in their footsteps.
