It requires the combine efforts of players, officials and the medics to avert the death of FC Nilayo's player, Popoola Kabir during a Nigeria National League (NNL) match against Osun United played at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta on Sunday April 11, 2021.
Popoola, after collision with Osun United player at the 80th minute of the highly explosive encounter had a small cut on his head and was attended to on the field.
As he was being taken out for further treatment, Popoola collapsed and fell on the ground, causing a panic while a distress call was made to the medical personnel and the ambulance well stationed on the track by the Ogun State FA.

Popoola remained unconscious for about 2 minutes before he was revived by the medics who quickly applied oxygen from the ambulance before being taken to the state hospital where he received further treatment and was subsequently discharged.
A few football fans at the stadium applauded the prompt response of medics and availability of fully equipped and functional ambulance whose oxygen was used to resuscitate Popoola.
The match, which was briefly suspended for a few minute during the incident ended goalless.
