Rivers United concede for the first time this season. In that process, they suffer their first defeat as well.

But the Pride of Rivers remain on top of the table on account of superior goal difference over Rangers United, who are now second on the log with Kano Pillars coming third and former runners-up Nasarawa United dropping to No 4.

Chinedu Udeagha's 30th-minute goal is all that the home side Wikki Tourists require to end River United's winless run.

Enyimba also fall short for the fight time in the season. Two goals from Shedrack Oghali (33rd minute) and Emmanuel Adachie (53rd minute) give the Naze Millionaires their first win in four matches and lift them two steps up the bottom of the table.

In Enugu, Rangers prove too tough for FC IfeanyiUbah and win their third of four matches this new campaign.

Israel Abia converts from the spot in the 12th minute for the Flying Antelopes, while Ekene Awazie levels up for the visitors six minutes into the restart. But Shedrack Asiegbu comes off the bench and makes an instant impact to strike the winning goal for Rangers in the 57th minute.

Kano Pillars send defending champions Plateau United back to Jos empty-handed with a goal by Rabiu Ali in the 78th minute.

Nasarawa United, who started the Matchday in second place, fail to break the resolve of hosts Adamawa United. The fixture records the only barren result of the day. The result enables United to remain in the top four.

Dakkada FC, now fifth on the log, see their first-half added time advantage through Kokoette Udo cancelled in the 77th minute by Temi Adebayo to give MFM a point, which places the Lagos team at No 7.

Six-placed Lobi Stars are denied an away win in Akure with Sadeeq Yusuf's goal in the second minute of added time against Sunshine Stars. Fuad Ekelojuoti's ninth-minute strike for Sunshine Stars is cancelled by Samuel Mathias, while Onuwa Chukwuka goes ahead to shoot the visitors ahead in the 77th minute.

Warri Wolves go goal-wire against Katsina United to move to eighth place. Goals are from Daniel Mark, substitute Tega Ebetomame and Wisdom Jumbo.
