Kwara United have completed the signing of former Super Eagles goalie Dele Aiyenugba ahead of the 2020/21 Nigerian Professional Football League season.

At the outgone NPFL season which was canceled due to the continuous threat of Coronavirus, Kwara United were aiming to finish among the top clubs on the final standings.

Before leaving Nigeria in 2007, Dele Aiyenugba recorded his name in the history books of the Nigerian and African football considering his awesome achievements.

He actually started his career at Kwara stars in 1998 before his brilliant performances then made ways for him to join Enyimba in 2001. Aiyenugba won four NPFL titles at Enyimba in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2007.

He also lifted the CAF Champions League twice in 2003 and 2004 and also two African Super Cup in 2004 and 2005 and left the People's Elephant in 2007 for a big move to Bnei Yehuda.

At the national team, the 36-year-old made 17 appearances for the Super Eagles and last played for the three-time African Champions in the painful 2-2 draw against Guinea in Abuja in November 2011 which confirmed Nigeria's failure not to qualify for the 2012 AFCON in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

" Kwara is my home and I am here to give my best to Kwara United and also sports loving people who are in this state," Aiyenugba explained.

In the same vein, experienced midfielder Jide Fatokun has also completed a move to Kwara United from Sunshine Stars ahead of the 2020/21 NPFL season.

The 22-year-old sealed the move to the Harmony Boys on Tuesday, August 11, after talks with the management and United gaffer Abdullahi Biffo.

After signing his deal with Kwara United, Fatokun vowed to give his best to the Ilorin-based team in our campaign next season.

" I am happy joining Kwara United and I want to promise the fans that I'm here to bring success to the club.

" This is the club after my heart and I want to thank everyone for the chance to play for this great team," Fatokun explained to Kwara United media.

Before joining Kwara United, Jide Fatokun played three seasons at Sunshine Stars and was an important player under Coach Kabiru Dogo last term. 

He will definitely be missed in Akure by Sunshine Stars' fans considering his superb performances during his stay at the club.
