Cyriel Dessers Dream Move To
KRC Genk Come True 
 

Dessers, born in Belgium, city of Tongeren to a Belgian father and a Nigerian Mother, who got his Nigerian passport after switching his international allegiance to Nigeria earlier this year has signed for KRC Genk. 

The New Nigeria international completed his transfer to former Belgian champions KRC Genk, from Dutch Eredivisie club Heracles Almelo where he impressed during the 2019/20 season.

Cyriel Dessers (25) is now an official player of KRC Genk. He signed an agreement for the next four seasons, until mid-2024. There is full agreement with all parties.

The fact that he was a supporter of our club as a child only makes it even better, as a seven-year-old already passed a test at KRC Genk. Eighteen years later, he can still realize his dream. KRC Genk is very happy with his arrival.

Dessers was jointly awarded the Eredivisie Top Goalscorer award alongside Steven Berghuis with 15 goals apiece. This was after the Eredivisie season was abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
