Joe Aribo in training with the Super Eagles team |
Rangers star Joe Aribo has been told he's too weak to play for Nigeria in an astonishing blast from Super Eagles legend Pastor Taribo West as revealed to Daily Record in UK.
He makes his debut last year, wearing the Green White Green Jersey, he has scored two goals and was widely praised by pundits, tagging him as the next Austin JayJay Okocha.
Since his move to Rangers on a free transfer from Charlton, Aribo's form has been up and down as he tries to acclimatize to Scottish football for Steven Gerrard's men, but his goals against Brazil and Ukraine have earned him plaudits in Nigeria.

But he's not convinced former Inter Milan, AC Milan and Derby County defender Taribo West, who doesn't think he's cut out to play for his country and believes Getafe star Oghenekaro Etebo should play instead.
According to Taribo West said: " I've watched Joe Aribo play for Nigeria, but in my view, it's clear he is yet to come to terms with the style of play.
" There's no other way of putting this - I think Joe is not a bad player, but he needs time to adjust to African football. It's not the same kind of football in Europe.
" In Africa, there's no time on the ball and for me, Oghenekaro Etebo is a far better option, He's quick, physical and reads the game. He should get Joe Aribo's spot when he comes back. African football is just too physical for Joe."
