Cyriel Dessers celebrate a
goal in Heracles Almelo colours
Cyriel Dessers, the Heracles Almelo striker saw his dream of making his international debut for Nigeria against Sierra Leone disappeared due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Belgian-born striker is pleased with the chance to feature for the three-time African champions and looks forward to his debut.

Nigeria is one of the biggest countries and the biggest football country in Africa. That means a lot to Dessers  and also looking forward to making his debut game for the Super Eagles because that would be a dream come true for him.

Meanwhile, Dessers admitted that he was already looking forward to linking up with his international teammates, Osimhen in particular because there are millions of people in Nigeria, it is really special they want me and show love to me already

" I know it's a young team, a lot of players playing in Europe, so I think that the adaptation would be fine and I hope when I come into the team they accept me," said Dessers to BBC.

" I am looking forward to seeing Victor Osimhen, I like to watch a lot of football and watch the strikers and I think he is a great striker, and I hope I can help him and support him."

The Heracles Almelo was in spectacular form for his side, finished the 2019-2020 season scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 28 appearances across all competitions to finish as unofficial joint top scorer in the Eredivisie.
