WOMEN FOOTBALL: Chairperson, Executive Committee Of Nigeria Women Club Owners Association, Matilda Onyiloha, Has Exhort Football Federation To Employ The Best Coach For Super Falcons

The chairperson, Executive Committee of the Nigeria Women Club Owners Association, Mrs Matilda Otuene Onyiloha, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation to pick the best coach for the Super Falcons.

She also described the 2019 squad of the Super Falcons managed by Swedish tactician, Thomas Denerby as one of the best ever in the history of the country while attending to questions on a Whatsapp Sports Group, Family United by football (FUBF) from gentlemen of the press. 

The Rivers Angels General Manager further expressed her optimism in the team to improve from where former coach, Thomas Dennerby, stopped.

It will be recalled that Dennerby's side won the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations, but crashed out in the second round of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

" We had a young and promising side in 2019, just like the team that went to the 2015 World Cup in Canada.

" Prior to the 2019 World Cup, the present board of NFF under Amaju Pinnick gave the girls one of the best ever preparation before the mundial, the team played some world class friendlies and gained more experience globally at the international stage."

However, while reacting to the NFF's decision on the replacement of the Swedish tactician, Onyiloha said that all she wants for the Super Falcons is the best.

" Thomas Denerby did a great job here and is expected to be replaced soon by the NFF. For me it doesn't matter who replaces him, so far the person is good enough. It could be a local coach or a foreign one, but all that really matters is getting the best person for the job," she said.
