The Bet9ja Ekiti Football League has come and gone, but the memory and glamour left behind would not be forgotten in a rush by all in Ekiti State.

A journey that started four months ago was rounded up with a beautiful football artisry to the delight of the mammoth crowd present at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado - Ekiti.

Speaking immediately after the game, Chairman of Ekiti Football Association, Bayo Olanlege as attributed the success of the maiden edition of Bet9ja Ekiti Football League to the support of His Excellency Kayode Fayemi, with collective efforts and team work displayed by everyone involved from the fans, players, referees and all members of the State Association.

We are a team which makes it easy for us, we had a situation when a team protested match officials decision and they promise to disrupt and dissipate the final match. But with the intervention of SWAN, Referees Council and Players Union it was technically resolved. This is about Ekiti Land and not Bayo Olanlege's success because the system is bigger than just one person.

"I thank God for a successful championship, I sincerely appreciate the passionate fans for coming out massively to support their darling team, it is an indication that they love what we are doing and thrown a challenge at us to do more, we want them to know that this is Ekiti State, we want to build the future of the youths using football, we are not running any race or competing with any state or any Football Association in Nigeria,” he concluded.

While also appreciating everyone who contributed to the success of the competition, the Ekiti FA boss noted that with collective and concerted efforts, no height is impossible to climb.
