The Umuahia Warriors were the first to make a statement when Guy Kuemian expertly nodded home a well crafted cross from Ugwuka Emmanuel in the 11th minute.

Tornadoes responded instantly as the trio of Ismaila Sarki, Victor Abata and Kabiru Umar combined to level the scores.

Both teams threw in more attackers in order to steal the game as Uche Okafor twice denied Niger Tornadoes in the dying moments of the duel.

"We were sharp in the second half and scored. It was a good performance from my boys," Tornadoes coach Abubakar Bala told Gov Okowa Pre Season Tourney.

"The lapses noticed will be corrected. We are unbeaten after three games and want to finish the group games with our unbeaten run intact.

Abia Warriors young forward Amos Ogbuagu who shone in a substitute appearance was optimistic of his team's progress to the semi finals.

"We wanted the three points but couldn't get it. It's just one of those days when you play so well and don't win.

"Lessons have been learnt and we will move on to the next level," he reflected.
