The All Progressives Congress has reclaimed Ekiti State after its candidate, Kayode Fayemi, emerged winner of the 2018 Ekiti governorship election.

Declaring Fayemi winner, on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Idowu Olayinka, the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, said he polled 197,459 votes to beat Professor Olusola Eleka, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 178,121 votes.

In a Press Release by the General Coordinator of Ekiti Youth in Sports (EYIS), Bayo Olanlege on behalf of the alliance congratulates Dr. Kayode Fayemi for a deserved victory in the Ekiti State gubernatorial election on 14th July, 2018. 

"Your Victory would return global beam on this state, in view of its immense socio - economic potentals, the Ekiti Youth n Sports (EYIS) have hinged their trust and belief in your global acclaimed intelligence, academics and administrative acumen.
