Concerned stakeholders and lovers of Nigerian football rose up in praises and in unison thanked God for the life of the national chairman of Nigeria football supporters club, Rev. Samuel Ikpea on his 50th birthday.

The well attended celebration which held Tuesday, at The Assembly of Faithful Church, Maryland, Lagos, was indeed, epochal as it brought together captains of industry, business men and women, administrators, stakeholders and sports fans and individuals from different walks of life.
In his sermon, the general overseer of the church, Pastor Israel Olufemi Ibironke, admonished the celebrant to remain God fearing and steadfast in all of his endeavours.

On his part, chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, the Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, thanked God for the life of Ikpea, which he describes as exemplary. Ejidike also prayed that God continue to protect and strengthen Ikpea,  in his selfless services to the country.
And in the words of prominent grassroots football promoter, Chief Michael Orobosa Ubogu, Ikpea, is  worthy of celebration. 


" We are happy to celebrate Ikpea on his 50th birthday. This is a man who has selflessly dedicated his resources and energy to the development of Nigeria and using football as a platform.

Today and always, we pray that God continue to guide guard and bless him," Ubogu added.
According to another renowned grassroots sports philanthropist and president of Lagos based nationwide league side, Freestan football club, Prince Efemena Elutabe, Ikpea, is a very important contributor to the growth Nigerian football. And he should be celebrated on his birthday and beyond.

" I am particularly grateful to God for the life of my brother and friend. Samuel Ikpea, is a good man and we should rejoice with him for God's kindness upon his life. I pray that God continue to protect and bless him for the benefit of Nigerian football and His glory," Elutabe prayed.
Reacting, Ikpea praised God for keeping him alive to witness his 50th birthday. According to him, God's uncommon love and kindness will further spur him to greater service to his fatherland.

" I am happy and grateful to God. And this gift of life  and uncommon love, is a morale booster for me to continue in my service to humanity and particularly, to the growth of Nigerian football," he said in a tone laden with emotion.
