The Commissioner for Youth Empowerment in Gombe State Malam
Farouk Yarma, hard working sportsman who had devoted greater part of his energy and resources to the development of sports in Gombe state and Nigeria.
He is also one of the finest sports administrators whose passion for sport development made it possible in establishing a private Club ( Yarmalight FC), having worked in several capacities in many sectors to enhance the upliftment of sports and youth development.
He "express his thought about the coming election of the Nigeria
Football Federation, the present crop of players of the Super Eagles and
expectation at the World Cup in Russia and also made his intention known about
being at the helms of affairs of the Football Federation in Nigeria one day
which requires a lot of learning and strategic approach in achieving the task.

Malam Farouk Yarma has thumbs up for the present leadership
of the NFF “So far so good the Amaju Pinnick led administration have performed
excellently well, they have not being doing bad, and the leadership is okay though
they have their own weakness that they need to improve on, but we should take
election as a process, not a do or die affairs” there should not be any
desperation but I believe your performance will speak for you, your
contribution to football development will speak for you and not all of us will
be on the board, Club owners and Sport journalist are also making their own
contributions

He further said; “One of the criteria to contest elections at National level is your contributions at the state and local government levels, you must understand what grassroots youth development is all about, before you should even consider contesting for Nigeria Football Federation seat, but reverse is the case now, everybody are contesting now because they just want to be on the Board, and nobody are even considering contesting for state FA seats but everybody want to be a member of the NFF without any knowledge of developmental ideas, I think if this can be part of NFF Statues it is okay.
“According to Mallam Farouk going to the world cup draws in Russia last year shows me the glamour and football politics, so for Nigerians to tell the coach or give a target at the world Cup, it is outdated and not in practice but the most important is that, Nigeria Super Eagles will be at the world cup and so far so good they have performed so well in all the friendly matches and we should expect good outing at the world cup because we have a young side ready for business.
“So winning the world cup or qualifying for the second requires a lot of approach but I believe we have the quality and it’s going to be a good performance.
He concluded by saying "God should help him with whatever decision he wants to take in life, though not desperate but one day" I will be at helms of affairs of the Nigeria football federation it’s a honour, I have a lot of ideas, a lot of things that will galvanize but it’s not yet time because I am still learning.
