Bolaji Yusuf and other contractors at the Agege Stadium
The upgrading of the Agege stadium, the home ground of the Nigeria Professional Football league side, MFM FC will be ready before their first home game in the 2018 CAF Champions League, the Lagos state Government has reassured.

The assurance was given during a scheduled facility tour of the ongoing renovation works by the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos state governor on sports facilities, Mr. Bolaji Yusuf.

He expressed satisfaction over the work already done by the contractor as he explained that about 60% of work had already been completed weeks before the start of the competition.

"The majority of the upgrading work is completed and by Monday the new extension will be covered leaving room for the remaining 40% which involves fittings and other minor details to bring the stadium to CAF standard."

According to the estimated dateline and assurance by the comtractor, the stadium upgrade is expected to be completed and handed over to the team by February 19th with a test match slated for February 20th to test the new features.

When completed, the players and referees rooms will be relocated with the addition of a doping control room to improve security of players and officials during match days.

The work when completed will be a fulfilment of the promise made by the Executive governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode to the MFM FC players and management after the Olukoya boys picked a slot for the prestigious 2018 CAF champions league after finishing second in the 2017 Nigeria Professional Football league season
