Cecilia Okoye With 2017 FIBA Afrobasket Trophy
The FIBA AfroBasket Championship 2017 has come and gone and our darling team, D'Tigress emerge undfeated Champion" going seven games without loosing and The Nigerian Basketball Federation played a very vital role that ensure D'Tigress becoming FIBA African Champions in Bamako, Mali but Sportflames.com had a chat with Cecilia Okoye via a Phone Conversation from her base in Dallas, Texas" and she expressed her experience for the first time with the team. 

According to Cecilia Okoye. she said the commitment and teamwork shown by the players, coupled with the bond among the players, they are nice and welcoming" friendly from Orlando, Lagos Camping and words of encouragement that motivate them to victory in Bamako - Mali.

I would also give the Nigeria Basketball Federation a very good rating, most especially Musa Kida the president of the Federation by doing all possibilities to ensure the trophy of the Championship come o Nigeria after 12 years and not just winning it but winning on a good note, setting a record of Seven games unbeaten" they really deserve a good rating.

Cecilia Okoye born in Houston, USA but from Anambra State, she came to Nigeria to learn our culture and where she came from" and she tried playing basketball in Boarding school in Enugu - Nigeria at the age of 12 but due to inadequate facilities she could not really play" but she started playing basketball fully at the age of 16 in Texas because her mum immigrated there" she played till professional level, and she has played for the following Clubs professionally:   
                                            2014 - 2015 - Widzew Lodz - Poland
                                            2015 - 2016 - Grosuplje   - Slovenia
                                            2016 - 2017 - Really Club Celta - Vigo - Spain

So playing for Nigeria, its really a great privilege because this is what i have desired for a very long time, though i am an American citizen but am still Nigerian full blooded" my blood, my family and when i was playing abroad, i have inquired playing for the Nigeria National team" So i am really happy "wearing the green white green and even winning a trophy, its a plus for me "enthused Okoye. 

Okoye Concluded " I love the team, i love the Officials also, the Coach helped alot " he knows everybody's strength and weakness, he thought us a lot in the sphere of one month and i believe we would really do well at the world cup because we know its now a World stage and not just a continental stage but i know surely we would shock the world."
