D'Tigress FIBA Afrobasket Champions
D'Tigress arrived the Abuja national stadium in one of Nigeria's super eagles team buses at about 5:10pm local time. The contingent was welcomed by the ever blazing trumpets and men of the Vincent Okumagba Nigeria supporters group.

Team Captain Aisha Muhammed led her colleagues to the hall, in company of NBBF president, board members, and officials.

They met the gentlemen of the press who were all over their faces with cameras of different sizes. Nigerian Sport's minister, Barr. Solomon Dalung came in and the event was formally gotten started. 

First to speak was the new Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Youths and Sports who gave pleasant salutation to D'Tigress. 

He said: "Hardwork pays alot, you girls gave your best and the reward is here. I'm happy because this is my first official assignment, What we started last with the super eagles has continued."

NOC President, Engineer Abu Gumel in his own remarks admonished D'Tigress not to relent as he charges them to get ready for challenges ahead. Gumel: 

" You've a long way to go. You must not relent, I pray you qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games and even get a win medal. The work must continue."* Gumel said with the girls reply with an enthusiastically loud Amen.

NBBF President Engr. Musa Kida
NBBF President, Engineer Musa Kida was next to speak, and he gave account of how difficult the task was. 

Kida said," It wasn't easy at all. It was barely 3 weeks after our inauguration and I can say it was painstaking but with our technocrats, experience and expertise we were able to achieve this. We insisted on our local coaches. I can also tell you we've taken care of the players. I take the risk of telling you to ask any player about this. We're happy about the ending."* Kida Concluded.

Chairman house committee on Sports Hon. Buka Goni Lawan also congratulated the girls on behalf of the speaker of the house, while also restating the commitment of the towards general sports development in Nigeria.

Barrister Solomon Dalung had to make a quick correction when it was his turn to address the gathering. "I want to quickly correct something which we've been doing but I think it's not right and must correct it. There are no local coaches but national coaches. Oyinbo keeps abusing us and we're still abusing ourselves."

Dalung again: " This victory is a proof of our sport's reforms. Many people said many things when we started but here we're, D'Tigress have vindicated our resolve. The victories are a result of our determination to reform sports."*

Finally Dalung made the biggest announcement: "I've been able to secure a meeting with Mr President. Tomorrow morning, Mr. President is going you receive all of you".

The occasion was kept lively with the beautiful tunes of the gallant men of Okumagba led supporters club who have also been invited to come along to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa for tomorrow' s reception
