As Round 32 of the Aiteo Federation's Cup gets underway, referees have been charged to ensure that balanced officiating remains their watchword.
This charge was made known by the President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Alhaji Tade Azeez.
According to the NRA, in the renewed spirit to keep the spirit of Fair Play alive and ensure that quality officiating reigns in all strata of domestic competitions in Nigeria, match officials have been asked to implore best practices in the course of discharging their duties noting that the premium the Association and the NFF place on the Officiating of the Aiteo Federation's Cup is sacrosanct.

Tade further noted that the deployment of Premeier League referees who are in the elite cadre of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for the matches, is a deliberate act of the NFF Referees Committee to ensure that participating clubs, irrespective of venue of the matches of the stage of the Aiteo Federation Cup, experience first class and unbiased officiating that will be favourable to all teams and stakeholders.
The Referees' body therefore asked participating teams and fans to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting outcome of matches in good faith as the referees are poised to be remain "fair and firm" in the remain matches of not only the Aiteo Federation Cup but also the Nigeria Premier League, Nigeria National League and other national competitions.
