Former Nigerian international Victor Ezeji has been honoured by Tunisian side Club Africain.
Ezeji, who played for the Ligue 1 club, was honoured on Sunday at the Stade Olympique de Radès shortly before the Caf Confederation Cup game between Rivers United and Club Africain.
The ex-Nigerian attacker was an integral member of the Club Africain side that won the Ligue 1 title in the 2007/08 season.
He was emotional during the ceremony and took the time to lap up the adulation.
“I was surprised because I honestly did not expect it.
“Club Africain will always have a special place in my heart and I want to thank the club for honouring me,” Ezeji told the press.
Club Africain have been winners of the Tunisian League title on 13 previous occasions.
Ezeji meanwhile went on to set an amazing record based on longevity in Nigeria, playing for nine different clubs in the NPFL and he dressed eight times for the Super Eagles
