Samson Siasia
News reaching us that the former coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Samson Siasia has reportedly applied for the vacant managerial job of the coach of the National team of South Africa.
The South African side has been without a substantive coach since the exit of Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba who was relieved of his duties by the South African Football Association (SAFA) on December 22, 2016.
The 49 years old ex-Nigerian international who also led two different Nigeria U23 sides to a silver medal finish at the Olympic games in Beijing in 2008 and a bronze medal finish at the Rio Olympics, has also reportedly applied for the coaching job of top South African side Orlando Pirates.
Orlando Pirates who are presently been handled by Augusto Palacios on interim basis after the resignation of Muhsin Ertugal, in November 2016.
South Africa are in the same group with Nigeria in the race to be at the 2019 Africa Cup of nations in Cameroon, and Samson Siasia could lead them if he is employed by South Africa Football Association.
