General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Rasheed Balogun, said the gesture of the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, is a big challenge for him as a person and the team as a whole.

The Oyo state, darling team has been enjoying the full support of the governor since he assumed office and this was further demonstrated by the number one citizen of the pace setter state, who presented two brand new buses to the team on Wednesday afternoon.


Reacting to the development, Balogun, whose management team was well appreciated by the governor for returning the team to the elite league, said the governor has challenged him and the club with the gifts and his words of encouragement 

" I'm am so delighted with what the governor did on Wednesday and I must confess, he has thrown a big challenge to me as an individual and the club for us to go out there and perform excellently well in the 2021/22 season of the NPFL.

" Yoruba people will say, when you praise somebody for doing well, he will strive to do more. His Excellency appreciated the job we did, it is our turn to deliver what he wanted.

"If you listen to him very well, he said we should go ahead and beat every team in the league and that he did not even want to see us hovering in the middle of the table but to be at the top.

This is a exactly what we will aim at and I am quite sure that we will not disappoint His Excellency, the government and good people of Oyo State, the supporters and the entire teeming fans of the club.

" It is a task that must be done and with the unwavering support, we have been enjoying from the governor, which he has promised to continue doing, we have no excuse than to deliver again", the astute football administrator asserted.

On the buses giving to the club by the governor, Balogun, expressed no surprise about the governor's gesture, knowing the type of man that he is.


" It is only those who don't know Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde that will be surprised with what he did.  For me and my management team and even the players and the entire staff, we are not surprised because His Excellency is man who can do anything to ensure the club gets the desired result

"He is a man who makes promises and keeps them. So for me personally, I am not surprised but I am further encouraged", added the former Julius Berger, Sunshine Stars and Dolphins bigwig, who thanked the governor, on behalf of the Oluyole Warriors for the gifts and the reassurance of his full support for the team.

Balogun was accompanied to the presentation ceremony by the club's Director of Administration, Alhaji Rahman Olapade, Director of Finance, Mr Kehinde Ogundiran, Team Manager, Dimeji Lawal (MON), Chief coach, Edith Agoye, Team coordinator, Adu Akintomiyi, the Licensing/TMS Manager of the team, Marooph Adekunle as well as the team captain, Omololu Waheed and his two deputies, Abbey Benson and Opeoluwa Olufemi.
