Between the 18th and 19th of October 2021, the Nigeria Basketball Federation's 2021 Electoral Committee, led by Dr. Lanre Glover, will begin collecting forms for potential candidates.
According to a statement released by the committee ahead of the October 30 election in Benin City, Edo State, all legally completed forms must be submitted on or before October 26th, with the screening to take place on October 27th.

All forms should be presented to the NBBF Secretariat in Abuja between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., or sent to the Chairman and Secretary of the Committee through the mail.
The much-anticipated elections, as well as all decisions related to them, will be organized and overseen in accordance with the 2019 NBBF status.

Eligible candidates will compete for empty positions in the North-central, North-East, North-West, South-East, South-South, and South-West zones, including President, Vice President, and Zonal Representatives.

In accordance with article 20 of the NBBF statutes, each member state (36 states and the FCT) shall be represented by two delegates (Chairman and Secretary), with any representative in the absence of the aforementioned presenting written advice duly signed by the Chairman on the association's letterhead paper.

At least two days before the elective General Assembly, a final official list of candidates will be published, announced in the media, and sent to all members of the General Assembly.

All campaigns must end 24 hours before Election Day, and any form of corruption or other direct inducements of voters may result in the defaulting candidate(s) being disqualified. The election will be monitored and observed by representatives from the Federation of International Basketball Associations, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Nigeria Olympic Committee.
