The 2021 Nigeria Basketball Federation's Electoral Committee met on Friday to finalize plans as the countdown to the election date of October 30th continues.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to organizing a free and fair election with a level playing field for all candidates.

"To ensure easy access to participation in the electoral process, the Electoral Committee decided that it is acceptable for the candidates for Vice President and President to attach to their forms letters of nomination from the two nominating states as required by Article 21.3.11 in the 2019 NBBF statute instead of shuttling from one state to the other to get signatures on the nomination forms" the 5 man committee agreed at a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Dr. Lanre Glover.

This, they claim, will have a positive financial impact while also lessening the stress of searching Nigeria's nooks and crannies for signatures.

Barrister Emma Okibe, the body's Secretary, signed the communiqué "The letters must be signed, stamped, and dated on both scanned and electronic copies. Before the elections, the originals of the letters must be delivered to the Electoral Committee."

This only relates to the candidates running for President and Vice President of the United States.

"The Zonal Representative form must be duly signed by the Chairman of their state basketball association"

On or before October 26, 2021, forms can be collected and submitted at the Nigeria Basketball Federation's Secretariat in Abuja or by email to the Chairman and Secretary of the committee.

The screening and announcement of selected candidates will be placed on October 27th, 2021.
