The Nigeria Basketball Federation has denied rumors that the 2021 Men's Premier Basketball League, which is set to begin on September 7th, will be postponed.
The rumor is baseless and the creation of some individuals whose goal is to confuse teams and players who are actively preparing for the league.
To that goal, on Tuesday, 22 clubs will compete for a single entry to the NBA/FIBA Basketball African League in 2021.
The Atlantic Conference will have 11 teams in Akure for the conference phase, while the Savannah Conference will have 11 teams in Abuja.
At the Indoor Sports Hall of the Akure Township stadium, the Rivers Hoopers, Kwara Falcons, Raptors, Police Baton, Ondo Raiders, Islanders, Coal City, Impressions, CAMAC, Invaders, and Lagos Warriors will compete.

Kano Pillars, Niger Potters, Gombe Bulls, Customs, Reformers, Benue Braves, Nigeria Army, City Chiefs, Plateau Peaks, and Bauchi Nets will compete in the Savannah conference at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Package B (Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja).
Refusal to accept the 2021 invitation will result in automatic relegation to the Total Division One, according to a statement sent to all clubs.
Players that participated in the recently ended Total National Division One and Two are ineligible to compete in the elite league.
With the Nigeria Basketball Federation's preparations now in place, stakeholders are anticipating a smooth competition that promises to be fiercely contested.
After Tuesday's technical meeting, the match schedule will be announced.
