Otis Hughley
The Nigeria Basketball Federation's leadership has given Mike Brown and Otis Hughley, who manage D'Tigers and D'Tigress respectively, a vote of confidence, and they have been asked to join in the future development of the teams.

Fresh off the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the federation, led by Engr Musa Kida, expressed complete faith in the technical and tactical ability of the two elite trainers to achieve the federation's long-term goals.

Kida said Brown has shown enormous love and dedication to Nigerian basketball by announcing his ambition to lead the D'Tigers to the 2021 FIBA Afrobasket, which will begin on the 24th of August in Rwanda.

“I have complete faith in Mike Brown because he goes above and beyond in terms of technical aspects of coaching the National Team. Mike Brown has demonstrated that he is enthusiastic about Nigerians' interests, Nigerian basketball, and making Africa look good.”

His stay with the federation stretches beyond the Olympics, which is only a stepping stone to bigger goals.

“This is a long-term project for me. This isn't something that can be fermented and mature in a single day. So I have complete faith in him, his devotion and enthusiasm for Nigerian basketball, as well as his desire to improve things.”

Mike Brown
Coach Brown was complimented by Kida for his maturity and outstanding degree of resilience in coping with the team's distasteful experiences during the Tokyo Olympics.

“What we went through at the Olympics did not deter him, and in fact, it makes me respect him even more than before. It's important for him to realize that this is something he's never experienced; perhaps only fantasized. Those things that actually happened to him were strange, but he handled them well, and we are still striving together.”

Coach Otis' future with the D'Tigress, he said, is bright because he has showed tenacity and the team can only improve.

“He is constantly looking for ways to improve things. He is still our women's head coach, and we continue to have complete faith in him. Kida continued, "He has not let us down in any way and has adapted to all of the different circumstances coming all the way from Spain (FIBA World Cup)."
