The start date for the 2021 Nigerian Men's Premier Basketball League has been set for September 7th, as the race for the NBA-sponsored Basketball African League gets underway.
The teams will participate in the conventional Atlantic and Savannah conference forms, according to a letter sent to clubs by the Federation Secretary, Mrs Bisi Afolabi-Oluwayemi.
The Atlantic conference's conference phase will be held in Lagos, where 11 teams will compete.
Rivers Hoopers, the defending champions and Nigeria's continental representative at the 2020 BAL, will face Kwara Falcons, Raptors, Police Batons, Ondo Raiders, Islanders Coal City, Impressions, CAMAC, Invaders, and Lagos Warriors in the National Final 8.

All eyes will be on the Kano Pillars and Gombe Bulls in the Savannah Conference, who have been projected as title contenders by bookmakers at the Abuja center.
The Savannah conference also includes the Niger Potters, Defenders, Reformers, Benue Braves, Nigeria Army, City Chiefs, Plateau Peaks, and Bauchi Nets.
For the season, each team must register 15 players.
Clubs should also resist the temptation to enroll players who competed in the 2021 Total National Division One and Two or risk being disqualified.
Teams that do not show up for the league will be relegated to Division One immediately.
Lagos will host the national finals.
