An estatic Coach Yusuf Farouk says his lads deserved the 3points against Buruj FC whom his Magate side beat 2-1 on MatchDay Three of the 2020/2021 Nationwide League One (NLO) Division One season.

A first half brace from Oke Samson and a consolatory goal for Buruj FC in last quarter of the game, earned Magate its first victory of the campaign.

Oke in the 23rd minute scored his team's third goal of the season after he made the most of Buruj FC school boy defending to tap into an empty net.

He doubled the lead 20 minutes later scoring from a penalty after his strike partner Daniel Never was hacked in the box by a Buruj defender.

The team then took a 2-0 scoreline into the half thus making it the first time this season Magate FC took a lead and scored two goals in 1st half.

Magate players came out smoking in the second half, knowing they needed to put the icing on the cake with a third goal.

Their consistent push for another goal paid off after Buruj FC were reduced to 10 players after their defender was shown a straight red card after he deliberately elbowed Adekunle Adedimeji in clear view of the referee in the 66th minute.

Despite Farouk throwing in more arsenals with four more players to complete his three substitutions, Buruj FC got a goal to make it 2-1.

Speaking after the game, "The victory is a sign of improvement from my players after the loss and draw in the last two games.

"They have also shown good spirit as the matches came and put all that was corrected in training to better use, so they deserved to get the 3points of their opponents," he said
