The coast became clearer for the staging of the highly anticipated maiden Late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye U-13 cup as organizers of the competition on Monday had a clue of  the giant trophy that will be presented to the eventual champions.

According to a release co-signed by the 
Chairman Organizing committee, Mr. Qozeem Oladapo, states that the giant trophy purchased in the United Kingdom by the regent, princess Jackie Adeola Ajakaiye-Okarevu caught everyone that saw the picture napping.

Also speaking with the organizers from her base in the UK, Princess Ajakaiye-Okarevu said the trophy was the first of its kind to be contested in any competition in Ekiti state and one of the best in term of quality, size and attraction across the country.

She said the gesture was to show the organizers of the late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye U-13 cup that the royal family was solidly behind them adding that all necessary support will be given to ensure its success .

Princess Jackie Adeola Ajakaiye-Okarevu described the late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye as a revered elder stateman who did not hide his passion for the game of football even as an oba while alive.

While assuring that the trophy will arrive Nigeria in the next few days, she said Ekiti people should calmly await the arrival of the trophy before the week runs out. 

In the meantime, the chairman of the organizing committee, Qozeem Oladapo who was marvelled at the sight of the trophy said the royal family had further put the organizers to task towards working harder for a glamorous and hitch free Late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye U-13 Cup.

He commended the Ekiti Statetate Football Association for always creating platforms for young football players to thrive and for the actualization of a viable football ecosystem in the polity without anyone running foul of  stipulated guidelines.

The trophy is expected to be handed over to the organizers next weekend (second week in February) while the Late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye U-13 Cup will begin at the local government level in  the third week of this month and end before the month runs out at the local government level.

The state finals is expected to begin early next month (March) and the grand finale has been scheduled to hold on March 31st to coincide with posthumous birthday of the late Oba Justice Ademola Ajakaiye of Iyin Ekiti.
