Amid the euphoria of the success recorded by the Kwara State para- Table tennis contingent at the just concluded Value Jet Championship, the chairman of the Kwara State Table Tennis Association, Mr Shola Owolabi has donated three new set of Table tennis boards to the sports council.
Speaking at the launching of the equipment on Thursday 24th of December at the Table tennis hall of the Kwara Sports Council,Mr Shola said he decided to procure the Olympic standard materials to hone the skills of the players and improve their performances.
Adding that the equipment worth 4.5 Million Naira were also donated to replace the annual funfare associated with birthday celebration , he expressed optimism that it will galvanize the players to achieve more laurels for the State.
In his own remark, the Special Adviser to the Kwara State Governor on Youth and Sports Development , Alhaji Attahiru Ibrahim commended the Chairman for his gesture which he said will complement the efforts of the government in repositioning sports in the State.
Alarape Atanda, the Director of Kwara State Sports Council, who described the Chairman as a person who have decided to help the helpless and restore hope for the hopeless noted that the new boards which are of international standard will bring the players in tune with the latest aspects of the game.
The former president of Table Tennis Federation of Nigeria and former Chairman of Kwara State Table tennis Association, Alhaji Kayode Abdulwahab Omotose urged the government to invest more in to other sports with a view to explore the opportunities that abound in them .

Stressing the imperatives of giving the best of attention to other sports, Coach Bola Magaji, a former Squash Racket Federation Vice Chairman and Oba Abdulrazaq Adebayo Abioye, the Olukotun of Ikotun appealed to the government to place premium on school sports with the purpose of discovering more talents.
Recall that Kwara State Para- Table tennis contingent came third on the overall medal table of the just concluded Value Jet International Para -Table Championship in Lagos with one gold,one silver and seven bronze medals.
The event also witnessed presentation of medals to the para- Table Tennis players for their heroics as the new playing boards were also savoured with exhibition games by the guests and players at the commissioning with delight.
Dignitaries at the event includes Sportspro News Publisher, Bayour Issah, Yinka Owolewa, Kwara SWAN Secretary and Barrister Orisankoko Yakub, Vice Chairman Kwara State Table Tennis Association.
Among other guests are Patience Lawal, Head of Coaching ,Kwara State Sports Council, Kehinde Aiyelabegan and Folashade Asaju,who are Chief Coach and Secretary of Kwara State Table Tennis Association respectively
