Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu claimed his 15th goal this season in the colours of KRC Genk in their forced 1-1 draw at home to Waasland-Beveren on matchday 19 of the Belgian Pro League on Sunday.


Onuachu, 26, scored the opening goal of the game for Genk in the 24th minute to put his Club ahead when he received a defense splitting pass from Bryan Heynen before chipping the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0 much to the joy of his teammates.


Aboubakary Koita equalised for the visitors (Beveren) with a stunning free-kick which flew past the wall before beating the goalkeeper to make it 1-1 at the break. in the additional minutes before half time.

Onuachu then made way for compatriot Dessers with 6 minutes left to play but it was the visitors who held firm as they claimed their first point in 3 games following back-to-back losses.


KRC Genk finish the first half of the season in second place with 35 points in 18 games, four points behind leaders Club Brugge who have played one game more whilst Onuachu moves up the scorer’s chart with 15 strikes, two clear of second-placed Thomas Henry.
