Remo Stars Head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, has revealed that his tactical approach earned his boys 0-1 victory over Kwara United on Friday evening at the Kwara State Sports Complex, Ilorin.

Ogunmodede revealed that his superior tactical approach to the game made the difference and he is certain that his rookie Remo Stars team can beat favorites for the 8th edition of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup crown.

The Sky Blue Stars became the first team to make it two out of two after they beat Kwara United by lone goal via a 73rd minute strike from Victor Osuwagu in the second match of Group B.

In his post-match chat with Ogunjobi Gold Cup Media Channel: "Victory well deserved for my team, I give credit to my players as they were disciplined in defending and made use of the half chance that came their way.

" Let me say that I took advantage of Kwara United lapses after I saw their game against Niger Tornadoes. I noticed the openings in their midfield so I had to find a way to outsmart them.

" Relief for me when I saw the Kwara United bench start with almost same set of players with workaholics Afeze Nosiru and Jide Fatokun in midfield, I knew lads have started in my midfielder would match them for strength and skills.

" Going forward, we still have another hurdle to cross in Niger Tornadoes. I expect a tough game as they are the defending champions."

About the positives of the pre-season tourney, "I think in the last five years, Remo Stars have not missed any edition of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup, as the prestigious tournament has been a good platform for teams to test their new players in the team and also perfect different game plans.

" So I give kudos to the organisers for a job well done. They have also been consistent and have set standards little wonder top teams in the domestic leagues in Nigeria want to take part in the tourney."
