Nigeria International & Leicester City Wilfred Ndidi

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is eager to help Leicester City qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The Foxes are currently placed third on the Premier League standings and they will have to finish the season in the top four in order to qualify for the Champions League.

Ndidi, who has made 25 appearances in the league this season, is one of Leicester’s key players as they look to return to the continental competition.

" It will be a plus to us as players, in our careers, if we can play in the Champions League. But it is something we have to work for,” Ndidi told Football Daily.

" It is not about what we have done in past matches. These eight games remaining, it is important for us to actually fight hard and pick the Champions League ticket.

" It is something we have to work for, we have to stay there. If we do our best and get the points, then we will get there.”

The last time Leicester played in the Champions League was during the 2016/17 season after clinching the 2015/16 Premier League title.

Ndidi made four appearances for the Foxes in the Champions League after joining the club from Belgian side KRC Genk in January 2017.
