The National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), Rev. Samuel Ikpea has revealed that the aim of the club is to soar and become the most talked about supporters club in the world in the next five years.

Rev. Ikpea, spoke on wide ranging issues  during an online session on the Nigeria Sports Centre WhatsApp platform anchored by versatile journalist Akeem Busari.

Speaking further, "Like every other association, the supporters club have a constitution and are guided by it". "Where there is any reported case of misconduct or anti-club  activities, the person is referred to a disciplinary panel who meets and submit their findings to us".


" It will be difficult to be talking of making the supporters club one. Particularly since all existing ones are legally registered associations with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). The Sports Minister can suggest ways of how existing supporters club can come together, but cannot impose it on them".

Rev Ikpea also disclosed that the club has plans to move to its permanent secretariat where different sections will be put in place with maximum activities always in place. Which will attract firms to approach the club for branding with business proposals.

He also spoke on the club's efforts to cushion the effects of the coronavirus on its members. Rev Ikpea stated that cash were given out to needy members and call cards were rolled out during quiz sessions.

 "We have created a strong awareness corner to update members from time to time on the pandemic," he stated.

When asked about his preference for the coaches of the Super Eagles, Rev Ikpea confirmed that he prefers indeginous coaches.

"So much is at stake for Nigerian football but we have to do the right things to develop a good structure for us to attain that height", he concluded.
