The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation Engineer Musa Nimrod said he has high hopes that the Nigeria team will go far at the 2018 Men’s U21 Africa Nations Cup in Abuja.

Nigeria made a comeback beating Cameroon 3-2 (24-26, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-9) in front of the home fans at the National Stadium package B.

He said, “I want to appreciate you for the wonderful display today in front of the minister of sports, Solomon Dalung and lovers of Volleyball. Nigerians are very happy with you and now we have hope that the future of our volleyball is bright,”

 “Our vision, as we have espoused from day one, is to build a sustainable volleyball culture for our dear nation. To do that, youth development is key”, said the Nimrod.

He told the boys to beat Rwanda in their second game in the Pool A of the Nations Cup

He said, “You must approach the matches’ one game at a time. 

Our objective is not only to qualify for the finals, but for the World Championship next year in Bahrain”.

“Don’t be distracted. Everything you need to excel has been  be provided, so it is now left to you to show that desire and hunger to succeed.”
