Sources disclosed that stakeholders in the Ekiti football community have expressed dismay over the latest development which they described as inimical to the fortunes of the sport in the state.

This latest move by Ayo Alabi, who also doubles as Ekiti state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, has been described as 'vindictive and 'political'.

According to a source, the banned members were being punished for their roles in the recent Ekiti state gubernatorial election.

It could be recalled that Bayo Olanlege who received an indefinite suspension was the general coordinator of the Ekiti Youths In Sports that rallied massive support for Gov-elect Kayode Fayemi at the recent gubernatorial election.
