Super Eagles Players Celebrate their victory

The trio of super eagles players, Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and John Ogu have expressed confidence ahead of the last group D Match against La Albiceleste of Argentina at the  ongoing Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup in Saint Peterborough, on June 26.

The players made this assertion in an interview with our correspondent in Russia, after they arrived Saint Peterborough, as they prepare to take on Weakening La Albiceleste, The whites and blues of Argentine side on Tuesday. 

Sportflames.com with proven facts reports that Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa reassured Nigerians on how committed and determined the players are going into the last group match against disorganized La Albiceleste that lost 3-0 to the Croatian team last week.

"I'm excited playing at the senior world cup for the second time in my football career not only that but also breaking the country's record once again in a crucial match against Iceland.

He adds" everyone knows the importance of this match against Argentina, we believe that  it is going to be a difficult and interesting game but we are ready to give all our best, after 95 minutes and i'm sure we would get the three maximum points since its the only lifeline left for our progress in this world cup. 

He further said, "Russia has been my second home having been played here for six years, so i always feel at home anytime i'm called upon to represent my country i will give over 100 percent in this encounter.

In similar version, Super eagles wing wizard, Alex Iwobi and powerful Midfielder John Ogu believed that victory against  La Albiceleste of Argentina is not Negotiable. 

" its always been my dream to play at the biggest  football showpiece , especially at the world cup.  so  i'm not scared of Argentina, my confidence is extremely high,  going by the way we performed in our last match against Iceland and i believed we  our preparing really hard for the Argentines  for its an honour representing my country at this stage and even if do not get the chance of playing, the most important thing is  for us to soar come against La Albiceleste , on Tuesday" Iwobi maintained 

In the same way John Ogu revealed the readiness  of the team in this last group encounter against Argentina.

"We had two training sessions after our victory against Iceland, every super eagles players spirit is very high as we are looking forward to the Tuesday match in Saint Peterborough"

"A lot of people have placed Argentina on the world cup exit door due to how they have struggled in their last two games,  but  we are unperturbed about that opinion because La Albiceleste are one of the toughest opponents to crack even as we would give over 150 percent performance just to fight for our darling country Nigeria" Ogu Expressed

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria set sights on victory against  the La Albiceleste  of Argentina, Ahmed Musa remains the only Nigerian player who have got a brace in a world cup match against Lionel Messi Argentine side, as Alex Iwobi registered two goals in of  the Russia 2018 world cup warm up friendlies  here in Russia .


However, Super Eagles would be playing La Albiceleste  for the 7th time out of which Argentines won 4 times and super eagles won one game. Total of 14 goals have been scored in last 6 meetings.
