Goodland Rangers for inspection in a league game

Goodland Rangers FC champion of NLO division 2 stumbled a second time within two weeks with a 1-2 defeat to Destiny  boys of Ikorodu in their home game on Friday at the legacy pitch. 


"It is not the result we wanted. All men fall but only the brave ones rise again " Ajuma told the official media of the club www.goodlandrangers.com, It was the second consecutive defeat of the orange fruitful boys having fell to the junior Olukoya boys a week earlier. 

The boys had showed promise from the blast of the whistle as enough pressure forced Destiny's Chidera Eze to be cautioned in the 9" after bringing down Shonanke Kassim by the edge of the box. 



The resultant freekick by Abraham Akpam met Shobanke on his left area as he wasted no time with a left ferocious kick that left the keeper rooted to the ground for the first goal. 


The coach Alabi Kazeem led team responded spiritedly and the pressure intensified and culminated to Olalekan getting injured while trying to clear the ball off his territory.

The game was delayed for over 5 mins as we witnessed pitch encroachment and fans disturbance as the ref ruled off an ill timed goal by destiny while the flag was up. 



After play finally resumped at the dot of 2 mins added time in the first half, the destiny boys equalized. 


Precious Obiora the replacement for injured Olalekan scooped the ball into his own net to the admiration of the destiny boys. 

It was a volatile match that gave room to an avalanche of cards with Goodland recording 4 yellow cards. 

The fruitful boys finally caved in at the 78' as the woodwork gave an important assist to an on rushing destiny player that coolly slooted in the second goal for his side. 
"It is an unbelievable result which I am yet to come to terms with ' Kazeem Adeyemi responded philosophically after the match. 

Goodland Rangers FC will travel to Ikorodu as they battle Joy cometh football club in the week 3 fixtures of the NLO division 1 this week.
