Go-Round Football Club made history at the Soccer Temple, Agege Community Stadium, Lagos in the Super Four capping the 2016-2017 season, for the so called most Important League in Nigeria.



Go-Round edged their more illustrious opponents, Heartland Football Club of 2-1 to be crowned champions of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League, for the first time, making it also their biggest silverware since they were established in I994.



The Omoku based team tutored by Ngozi Elechi made their impression known early enough in the 3rd minute of an excruciating encounter when Solomon Nwachukwu was placed on by team captain Nelson Esor- Okwa,he was one on one with Heartland keeper for the day,Japhet Itodo and made no mistake in front of goal,as he tucked the  ball to a difficult angle for Japhet for Go-Round’s first goal.

Attacking Midfielder Lucky Emanor leveled terms for Heartland in the 15th minute to the Naze Millionaires back in the game.



Both teams continued with more fireworks but it was the Dare Lions of Omoku that coordinated better and their efforts paid off in the 22nd minutes with a vital strike from Nelson Esor for goal number two which eventually made the difference.



Go-Round, who finished as runners up in the Southern Conference during regular season behind Heartland, had earlier defeated Kwara United of Ilorin 4-2 via penalties after barren 90 minutes of action to state their resolve of lifting the Most Important League trophy known. 


Katsina United were last season’s champions in the Super four held at the Pantami International Stadium,Gombe and the only team that survived relegation last season.
