FIBA Africa is to conduct an intensive Statistics training for old and prospective statisticians between the 22nd and 23rd of October 2017 for the 2017 FIBA Africa Zone 3 Club Championship eliminations.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary General of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Chimezie Asiegbu, the apex basketball body in Africa said it has concluded all arrangements to send Arnaud Sevaux who is a FIBA expert to teach all interested participants.

8 countries under the FIBA Africa zone 3 are expected to participate in the 2 -day training specially drawn up for statisticians who will officiate during the FIBA World Championship Qualifiers, Local and international competitions ahead of the 2018 basketball season.

To this end, the NBBF secretariat has already sent out a memo to state basketball associations to inform statisticians and persons interested in attending this training programme. 
Interested Media Professionals are also encouraged to attend in order to improve their knowledge of the game including commentaries and analysis.

Although attendance for the event will be at no cost to all participants, interested candidates are expected to cater for their accommodation and upkeep during the training.
Arrival is on the 21st October 2017 while Departure will be on 24th October, 2017.
