SGFC Players on the Bench
SGFC Eagles play host to Virginia FC in a rescheduled ASL Fall Season game and it was really a tension soaked game infront of their darling fans, "Despite going into the game as favourites, Eagles laboured for most part of the game as their opponents Virginia FC matched them kick for kick and pace for pace, producing an entertaining contest to the delight of the spectators.

Abdul Adeniji who was one of five players SGFC Eagles signed at the begining of the season shared his delight also for the sweet victory over Commonwealth boys and the unity that exist among the players and the technical department that ensure the victory after the game.
“I feel very very happy because I joined the team and i love their philosophy of play, the coach saw me and invited me and immediately they offered me a contract, though my clearance delayed my debut game uptill this moment but it was a good game for me and the rest of the team, we want to remain focus and keep improving on every game to keep the hope of being crowned champion at the end of the season alive "expressed Adeniji.
On the squad also are other new signing, Joseph Belzil, Nicholas Dias and Chris Green.
Prolific and skillful winger Mo Jawara unleashed a thunderbolt shot and a blockbuster goal of the week at the back of the net of the Virginia FC, to put Eagles ahead in the 22' mins of the first half to bring his goal tally to 11 goals in 16 games.

The Commonwealth Boyz" as popularly called in metro zones deeply attacked eagles defensive line and were able to equalized in the 56th minutes. Amazing counter attack came against the VAFV towards the 70th minutes and the Eagles draw the last blood to take a lead against Virginia FC goal by Joseph Belzil scoring a goal in his debut match for SGFC Eagles.

Speaking with Coach Richard Opanuga after the game, Commonwealth boyz absolutely play a common type of football and really prove to us that they have wealth of knowledge of the game, they gave us a very good fight, show alot of determination but i would say the better side won" I am so proud of my boys but the battle continue, as our focus is to be the champion and hopefully to keep winning and maintain the momentum,

Goals:
Mo Jawara-  22nd
Nicholas Dias - 39th
