Ahmed Fresh

Following the impressive performances of the Super Eagles in recent games, executive member of the NFF and chairman of Niger state FA, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh believes the future of Nigerian football is bright.

Speaking with Sports Chronicle magazine in Abuja, Fresh was particularly effusive about the new found fervour and enthusiasm pervading Nigerian football which he also attributed to the relentless efforts of the board of the NFF to reposition the game in the country.

" Recent happenings in our football portends a bright future for football in this country, " he enthused confidently.

" It was, indeed, a bad and painful experience for Nigerian football when the country failed to qualify for two consecutive AFCON tournaments as well as some age-grade championships. Insha Allah, our football shall never witness such experiences again.

" There is presently a smooth and workable synergy between the NFF, LMC and other stakeholders in our football.  I remember former FIFA's president Sepp Blatter, once said football is a family affair.Expectedly, such harmony would be positive for our football," he added.

According to Fresh, who is also the chairman of the referees appointment committee of NFF, the present statutes of the NFF has given it the needed leverage to work and move the game forward in the country.

" The statutes of the NFF ensures the board can work assiduously towards achieving its set goals. Much more, our amiable President Amaju Pinnick, is presently occupying top positions in both CAF and FIFA and that as well ,are signs of a better tomorrow for our football.
