MFM FC Players Warm Up Session
Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC claimed a vital 1-0 win over struggling Gombe United in Matchday 35 clash of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium courtesy of a header from Monsuru Bashiru.

Despite the fact that three of their regular players, Stephen Odey, Sikiru Olatunbosun and Giscard Tchato were not available for selection, MFM FC began the lively contest with determination and precision as they go forward searching for an early goal with sporadic counter-attacking displays but the away team were resolute with their defending and kept the likes of Adebayo Waheed, Abara Ifeanyi and Akuneto Chijioke silent for the first 10 minutes of the match.

Stanley Okorom took the first in the 11th minute and Gombe United goalkeeper Danjuma Hussaini denied him a scoring opportunity pulling off a fine save while Akuneto's 14th minute fierce shot from the second free kick went inches wide.

The hosts scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute of the match through Monsuru Bashir's great header off a well delivered cross from creative midfielder Onuwa Chukwuka. The first half ended with the Lagos-based team maintaining a one-goal lead.
