Buruj Sports Academy celebrate their Victory
Buruj Sports Academy last Saturday won the Manchester Super Cup after defeating Witworh Park Academy 1-0 in a keenly contested final match that left several football scouts including Mark Curran and John McNabb of English premier league side, Everton football club, really impressed.


The Ikorodu based team who were playing in the tournament for the second time garnered three victories and a loss in the group stages to qualify for the semi finals where it defeated Pro Soccer Academy 3-1.

CEO of Buruj Academy, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed ,who was obviously elated, thanked God for the historic feat. Which he also attributed to discipline, hard work ,commitment and dedication .


He was particularly effusive with praises for the roles and supports the team enjoyed from the President of 36 Lion football club, Hajji Gafar Liameed during the tournament.

According to him,the highly experienced football administrator played a pivotal role which contributed immensely to the eventual victory of the team at the tournament that featured youth teams from 20 countries across the world.

It would be recalled that Hajji Gafar flew to Manchester to support the team where his acclaimed technical and managerial inputs was lauded as it proved pivotal in achieving the feat.
