The 3rd edition of the prestigious City Sports Merit Awards is billed to come up in August, 2017.
The annual awards which is organised by Bulfazi Media Services, the publishers of City Chronicle and Sports Chronicle Magazines, and in conjuction with the Coalition of Young Editors of Nigeria, is aimed at celebrating and recognizing distinguished Nigerians who have contributed to the development and growth of sports in Nigeria.

According to a release signed by the coordinator of the event, Akeem Busari, some prominent Nigerians including Hon. Daniel Igali, Alhaji Ahmed Fresh Yusuf, Kelvin Irikefe, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, Richard Opanuga, Odion Ighalo, Daniel Ededuan,Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi , Honour Sirawoo, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, Pastor Benjamin Igoh, David Doherty, Ezekiel Henty and Odunayo Adekuoroye, are among others to be celebrated.
" Essentially, this award is to celebrate and recognise Nigerians both home and in diaspora who have continued to use their hard earned money and resources to contribute to the growth of sports in Nigeria, particularly, at the grassroots level, " he explained.
