A wonderful free kick from Ochowechi Salefu and Awazie Ekene secured maximum points for the Sky Blue Stars. The game played at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu ended the home side five (5) games without a win. The game started with lot of expectations from the fans of Remo Stars to get a win against the visitors, Gombe United.
Speaking after the match, Osho says "the battle has just started, we believe so much that we are far better than where we are on the table and that was what we kept telling ourselves going into the game."
"We worked so hard to defeat Gombe United but we mustn't take it away from the visitors too. Our hard work payed today and we can keep getting better by game. "We got 2 early goals today, it happens and we could have even gotten goals in the last minute but the zeal in the players actually payed off. We have been doing well in our away matches without winning but we actually must start winning to keep compensating ourselves."
"We opened up the midfield because we created more threats from the sides today, we usually play from the midfield but decided to exploit the sides. "We have started with the self believe, we have more of psychological problem because we are playing far better than the results we are getting, I keep telling the boys that we can do it and we have done it and we have just started." Osho assured.
Today's victory is very important to us because we haven't won a game in a while now and I am very happy I got a goal and a vital win. "I am happy I scored that free kick because I want to help my team escape relegation and I will keep doing my best for the team."
