Nigerian Football Supporters Club
Following the defeat of the Super Eagles to South Africa in the AFCON 2019 qualifying game played in Uyo, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club has attributed the loss to the negative aura pervading Nigerian football.
Speaking with the press, the Public Relations Officer of the NFSC, Afeez Balogun, described as unfortunate, the present state of Nigerian football.

" Nigerian football has never had it so bad. It's been one painful defeat and non - qualification for important continental and global tournaments or another since Amaju Pinnick became the NFF the NFF President, " Balogun quipped.

" Before now, we have experienced unity and peace in Nigerian football and of course, with the selfless contributions of the NFSC. It is a shame to note that Pinnick has decided to delve into issues beyond his portfolio, particularly, the leadership matter concerning the NFSC, " he added.

Continuing, he stated that Pinnick has been farning the embers of discord in the once peaceful supporters club by supporting the former acting national chairman of the club, Vincent Okumagba, who was expelled from the club due to several anti club activities, which included gross abuse of office, intimidation and forgery.
Speaking further, he admonished stakeholders in Nigerian football to quickly call Pinnick to order and to concentrate on the issues concerning Nigerian football.

" Let him concentrate on piloting the NFF and leave the supporters club alone. We ( NFSC) are not happy with his undue interference in our affairs. This club was founded 62 years ago and it is duly registered body, with subsisting rules and regulations. The NFSC has absolute control and authority over its own affairs. It is not an appendage of NFF, but partners in the development of Nigerian football.

" Therefore, Pinnick needs to truly watch his steps and utterances and not play the sentimental game of nepotism and tribalism with the NFSC. Or he might just get his buttered fingers burnt, " Balogun stated.
He added that Pinnick's lack of concentrating and genuine interest in the growth of Nigerian football due to his meddlesome nature and self-aggrandisement is killing Nigerian football.
"  If he continues, we might fail to qualify for the World Cup and AFCON, God forbids. Nigerian football and the NFSC are bigger than Pinnick and Okumagba, " he added conclusively.
