Esosa Igbinoba
Nasarawa United and Rivers United will go toe to toe in a match day Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) game in Lafia this weekend. Rivers United come into the fixture on the back of a 0-2 loss to Katsina United in a rescheduled NPFL game in Midweek.

It was the Pride of Rivers’ first loss in four games in all competitions and they will be looking to fight back and put their floundering campaign back on track. The occasion on Sunday will be extra special for Rivers United midfielder, Esosa Igbinoba who will be returning to his old stomping ground to face his former club. Nasarawa United striker, Babangida Ibrahim Hamisu says Esosa will get a warm reception from the home faithful.

“Esosa is a very good player who did very well for Nasarawa United, he scored 15 goals for the Solid Miners in a season before he joined Rivers United. “He will get a good reception from fans of the club (Nasarawa United). “We are not intimidated by the prospect of facing Rivers United and will approach the game with the aim of amassing all three points,”

Esosa also took the time to discuss the game against Solid Miners. The Rivers United midfielder still enjoys a special relationship with fans of the Solid Miners and revealed that he will not celebrate if he scores against his former club on Sunday.

“The fans of Nasarawa United showed me so much love and I will not celebrate if I score against (Nasarawa United on Sunday). “However, I am a professional and will try to help my team, Rivers United win on Sunday” he said.
