The league ruling body has fixed a congress date for the meeting of women football stakeholders to draw a road map ahead of the coming season
The annual general congress of the Nigeria Women Football League will hold on February 22, 2017, according to its Chief Operating Officer, Ayo Abdulrahman.
The NWFL board headed by ace broadcaster Aisha Falode who were inaugurated in January will meet with the women football stakeholders in Abuja.

"We are pleased to convey to you the best sporting regards of the Chairperson, Board Members and Management Staff of Nigeria Women Football League," Abdulrahman announced.

"Further to this, we wish to inform you that the 2016/2017 Nigeria Women League Club Congress has been scheduled for Wednesday, the 22nd of February, 2017 at Hotel de Bently, Abuja by 7:00 pm prompt."

At the congress, a proposed season calendar including the commencement date for the coming season and the scrapping the abridged league system will be ratified.
Newly promoted Nigeria Women Premier League and relegated Nigeria Women Professional League teams will be adopted as well registrations.
