The second edition of the highly rated City Merit Awards organised by Bulfazi Media Services, the publishers of City Chronicle Newspaper and Sports Chronicle Magazine, comes up this week in Lagos. 


The award, which is aimed at recognising and celebrating Nigerians who have contributed in no small ways to the development of Nigerian sports, will honour five distinguished Nigerians, namely, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the Chairman of Lagos FA and 1st Vice President of the NFF ; Rev. Sam lkpea, National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club ; Alhaji Gafar Olawale Liameed, President, 36 Lion football club of Lagos ; Prince Efemena Elutabe, President, Freestan football club, Lagos, and Nigeria's Pillar Of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike. 


According to the Chairman /CEO of Bulfazi Media Services, Otunba Lanre Owolabi, the awardees emerged from a list of 40 nominees. " I want to thank the Coalition of Young Editors of Nigeria (COYEN), for painstakingly coming up with this list of distinguished Nigerians as the awardees," he said. 
"This merit awards is to further spur these people to doing bigger and greater things for Nigerian sports, "he added.
