Super Eagles new invitee Kingsley Ehizibue was on the losing side as his team, Cologne, fell to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga Wednesday.

Monchengladbach got the lead in the 32nd minute through Breel Embolo’s effort, the only goal of the game in the first half of the contest being played behind closed doors due to corona virus concerns.

Gladbach were two goals up in the 70th minute through an own goal by Jorge Mere. Mark Uth scored the only goal for Cologne in the 81st minute which was not enough to earn them points as Monchengladbach came out victorious.

Ehizibue,  who was included in the Eagles 24-man squad for this month’s 2021 AFCON double header against Sierra Leone was born in Germany to Nigerian parents and raised in Netherlands.

FC Cologne currently sits at 10th position after garnering 32 points from 25 matches.
